Who is accountable?
AI agents are changing the manager’s job. Accountability hasn’t caught up
Who owns the outcome when people and AI agents share the work, and three questions to answer before an agent goes into production.
You need value from AI today, and decisions that still hold up as AI keeps changing. We give leadership teams independent advice grounded in what works right now, and help them build an organisation that’s ready for what comes next.
Advice that’s yours alone. You get senior attention, not a rotating team. We keep our client numbers small and never work with your direct competitors at the same time.
Advice you can trust: no software to sell and no vendor commissions. We always separate what’s proven, what’s emerging and what’s hype.
Direction
Agree where AI pays off now, what’s coming next, and which investments make sense whichever way AI develops.
People
Help your people understand what’s changing in their roles, build their confidence and keep adapting as AI moves on, so your investment delivers.
Control
Guardrails and accountability your board can stand behind, designed to keep pace as AI and agents take on more of the work.
How we think about AI
Most AI advice is either stuck in today’s tools or lost in tomorrow’s hype. Leaders need both: value from AI now, and an organisation that can keep adapting as it changes. That’s how we approach every strategy, keynote and engagement.
Where AI is delivering real value right now in organisations like yours, and where it isn’t. Proven applications, not demos or vendor promises.
The leadership question Where should we act now?
AI agents, AI-native workflows and the scale of automation already visible overseas. What’s likely in the next one to three years, and what it means for your roles, skills and structures, including where work will consolidate.
The leadership question What’s coming that changes our plans?
The leadership capabilities, structures and governance that keep your organisation adaptable, plus no-regret moves that pay off whichever way AI develops.
The leadership question What should we build now so we’re ready?
Our discipline: we always separate what’s proven, what’s emerging and what’s still speculation. You won’t get hype from us, or a vendor’s roadmap.
Who you’ll work with
When you work with Matrix AI, you work directly with founder Glen Maguire. Glen’s career began at Nestlé. He went on to lead digital at Diageo Europe through the dot-com era, held senior digital leadership at Vodafone New Zealand, and co-founded IAB New Zealand. He holds an MBA from the University of Otago.
Having seen how past technology waves played out, Glen helps leaders separate lasting change from hype, so the advice you get is grounded in how organisations actually adapt, not in theory or a vendor’s roadmap. More about Matrix AI
Leadership teams, government agencies and businesses across New Zealand, Australia and Europe trust us to help them get value from AI today and prepare for what comes next. From board-level strategy and governance to keynotes, change and capability-building, every engagement is shaped around the organisation, never a product.
Quality, not quantity
The AI decisions you make now will shape your people, your risk and your competitive position for years. You need independent advice from a partner who knows your organisation and stays with you as AI changes. That takes depth, so we deliberately keep our client numbers small and our relationships long-term.
No software sales, no commissions, no preferred vendors. Just what’s right for your organisation.
We never work with your direct competitors at the same time.
We stay with you from first strategy to lasting change, and keep your plans current as AI moves on.
If something isn’t right for you, including us, we’ll say so.

FAQs
An AI consultant helps leadership teams decide where AI will create value now, what’s coming next and how to govern it, then supports the change so the investment pays off. At Matrix AI we treat strategy and people as one job: strategy sets the direction, people make AI work.
Both, deliberately. We start with what AI is proven to do right now, so you get value quickly, and connect it to what’s emerging, so today’s decisions still hold up as AI changes. We always separate what’s proven, what’s emerging and what’s hype.
We’re independent. We don’t sell software or licences, so our advice on Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or any other tool is based only on what fits your organisation. We focus on the leadership and people decisions where AI programmes are won or lost. You deal directly with Glen Maguire, we keep our client numbers small, and we never work with your direct competitors at the same time.
Yes. We have offices in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney and Brisbane, and work in person across both countries, including regional centres, as well as online. Clients span agriculture, construction, infrastructure, education, retail, professional services, finance and government. Quotes are in NZD or AUD.
Yes, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude, tailored to your people’s real work. Training on its own rarely changes how people work, so we connect it to your AI strategy, your change plan and what’s changing in people’s roles.
Our core work is strategy, change and capability. For clients we already work with, we also design and test practical AI workflows and agentic AI solutions. On larger builds, we work alongside your IT team or implementation partner, so what gets built is actually used.
It’s a free, no-obligation 20-minute conversation about where your organisation is with AI, your priorities and your concerns. You’ll leave with clear next steps, whether or not we work together.
